Miralon Expands Palm Springs 'Agrihood' with New Residential Neighborhoods

PLC Communities has launched two new residential neighborhoods at Miralon, Palm Springs' award-winning eco-Modern "agrihood" community developed by Freehold Communities. The Newport Beach-based builder opened models for Olea, a neighborhood of 71 single-family homes starting at approximately $1.1 million, on October 4. PLC will also construct Lily, a neighborhood of 157 paired homes with two to four bedrooms expected to start in the $700,000s, bringing the company's total contribution to Miralon to 228 residences.

These new neighborhoods join Solace, a development of 25 homes by Woodbridge Pacific Group that will begin presales in November. The expansion reflects Miralon's successful approach to creating sustainable communities that honor Palm Springs' Modern architectural heritage while incorporating unique agricultural amenities. Brad Shuckhart, Freehold Communities' California Division President, stated, "We are excited that PLC Communities will build both Olea and Lily at Miralon. The 157 new paired homes will bring even more choices for buyers to enjoy stunning desert Modern homes among Miralon's rich mix of amenities that are unequaled in Palm Springs."

Miralon represents one of the largest new "agrihoods" in the United States, transforming a former 18-hole golf course into a vibrant community featuring working olive groves, community gardens, and extensive walking trails. The 309-acre masterplan will eventually include 1,150 Modernist-inspired residences designed to harmonize with Palm Springs' architectural legacy. The community's private Miralon Club offers residents two pools, a hot tub, full-service bar, demonstration kitchen, yoga and fitness studio, and Wi-Fi Café.

The continued builder activity at Miralon demonstrates the market's strong response to communities that combine sophisticated home design with sustainable living practices and robust social amenities. Shuckhart added, "With the addition of Lily by PLC Communities, Miralon continues evolving as Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley's premiere desert community for a wide choice of homes among stylish amenities and incredible views."
