Mirasol Foundation Achieves Record Charitable Giving and Welcomes New Leadership

The Mirasol Foundation, Inc. has announced a record-breaking year of charitable giving, distributing over $720,000 in grants to 49 local nonprofits in Palm Beach County, focusing on critical areas such as families and children in crisis, veterans, food insecurity, and homelessness. This achievement coincides with the appointment of Ed Glassman as the new Foundation President, succeeding Marilyn Wilson, who led the organization through a period of substantial growth.

Under Wilson's leadership, the Foundation not only met but exceeded its $700,000 fundraising goal, raising over $760,000 from more than 375 donors. This funding has enabled grants ranging from $10,000 to $40,000, benefiting organizations like the Palm Beach County Food Bank, Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, and Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies. Glassman emphasized the community's role in this success, highlighting the generosity of Mirasol residents.

The Foundation's Gifts & Grants Committee, now comprising 30 volunteers, played a pivotal role in this year's achievements by evaluating 80 proposals and ensuring donations were directed to where they could make the most difference. The Foundation's approach combines financial support with direct community service, including food collection, clothing distribution, and donations of diapers and formula, significantly impacting the lives of those in need.

Looking forward, the Mirasol Foundation is set to continue its mission under Glassman's leadership, with initiatives like MFI-TV showcasing the impact of donations and new committees aimed at strategic growth. Wilson expressed confidence in the Foundation's future, reflecting on the community's support and the organization's ongoing commitment to making a difference in Palm Beach County.
