Mission North Expands with Public Affairs Practice to Address Complex Regulatory Challenges
Mission North launches a public affairs practice led by Emily Field to help clients navigate evolving regulatory landscapes and integrate policy communications with corporate and product strategies.

Mission North, a communications agency for consequential companies, has launched a public affairs practice to assist clients in navigating the increasingly complex regulatory environment at federal, state, and local levels. The new practice, led by Senior Director Emily Field, expands the firm's corporate affairs capabilities and responds to growing demand for integrated communications services across technology sectors including AI, cybersecurity, and healthcare.
The initiative addresses fundamental changes in how organizations must communicate with government stakeholders amid rapid technological transformation. According to Mission North co-CEO Bill Bourdon, policy and stakeholder engagement has become a new competitive battlefield where splitting communications across multiple specialty shops creates friction and forces brands to choose between specialization and scale. The agency aims to combine boutique advisory expertise with the breadth of specialized services typically found at larger firms.
Field brings substantial public sector experience from her previous role at RH Strategic, where she advised federally funded research institutions, technology companies, and cybersecurity organizations. Since January, Mission North notes that the regulatory landscape has fundamentally changed, requiring innovative approaches to reach key stakeholders through new mediums and strategies.
The public affairs offering includes comprehensive services designed to help clients manage reputational challenges and leverage storytelling opportunities amidst shifting policies. These services encompass strategic counsel and reputation management advisory, targeted whisper campaigns highlighting third-party stakeholders, policy content development including congressional letters and briefs, stakeholder engagement with community leaders and industry associations, legislative analysis to guide business strategy, congressional testimony preparation, and strategic alignment that integrates lobbying, public policy, and legal expertise.
Mission North's work has already focused on educating government entities about critical innovation issues related to AI safety and security, data center energy consumption, and defense technology advancement. This integrated approach helps drive technology adoption, build thought leadership, and increase mindshare among the nation's most powerful decisionmakers as organizations face some of the greatest reputational challenges of our time.
