National Padel League Launches First Nationwide Amateur Team Competition in US

The National Padel League has launched the USA National Team League, the country's first structured amateur padel team league with nationwide reach, endorsed by the U.S. Padel Association. This development represents a significant milestone for the sport's growth in the United States, providing amateur players with professional-style competition opportunities across 40 cities beginning in Fall 2025.

The league's nationwide structure spans six regions—Florida, Texas, Southeast, Southwest, Mid Atlantic, and Northwest—including major metropolitan areas such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami. This geographic expansion addresses the growing demand for organized padel competition beyond local club play, creating a unified national framework for amateur athletes. National Padel League Director Luis Fernando Ramirez Aristeguieta described this as a landmark moment for amateur padel in the United States, emphasizing the opportunity for players to compete locally, regionally, and nationally while building lasting connections.

The league structure includes open eligibility for amateur players aged 16 and older with active USPA membership, featuring separate men's and women's divisions. Teams will compete across four skill levels using the World Padel Rating system, with roster sizes ranging from 6-15 players. The competition format involves three doubles games per match, with teams advancing by winning two out of three games. The pathway to the national title includes city-stage competition in October 2025, regional championships in November 2025, and national finals in February 2026 in Miami, where regional champions will receive media coverage and travel support.

Bill Ullman, President of the USPA, emphasized that this league represents another significant step forward for amateur padel, offering players an exciting pathway from local clubs to national team-oriented competition. Registration for the league is now open through October 6, with detailed information available at nationalpadelleague.us. The creation of this structured national league system demonstrates the sport's maturation in the American market and provides a framework for future growth and professional development opportunities for amateur athletes.
