The healthcare industry is facing a critical challenge with workplace violence, costing the U.S. healthcare system an estimated $12.7 billion annually. In response, OPTICS for Healthcare has launched a pioneering AI-driven platform aimed at assessing and mitigating these risks. This innovative solution comes at a time when healthcare workers are experiencing workplace violence at a rate five times higher than those in private industry, with over 2,000 nurses and nursing assistants facing physical violence daily.

The platform integrates artificial intelligence with human oversight across five key components: a comprehensive workplace assessment, a GAP analysis report, a collaborative workflow management system, a critical content library with real-time regulatory updates, and a management dashboard for analytics. These features aim to not only improve staff safety but also reduce liability exposure and decrease turnover rates, which can cost up to $82,000 per registered nurse.
Pilot programs for the OPTICS platform are set to begin this fall, focusing on client implementation and user experience.
