New Fantasy Series 'Search for the Signet' Explores Voodoo Heritage and Supernatural Legacy

The release of "Search for the Signet" marks the beginning of the Orion Labauve series, featuring a protagonist whose life has been shaped by supernatural forces from conception. Orion Labauve's unique upbringing at the L'Enfant Haven plantation in Louisiana involved being raised by ghosts bound to the property by an ancient curse, granting them abilities beyond typical spectral entities. From age three, Orion could see, hear, and communicate with these spirits, learning their stories and how they intertwined with his family history.

Orion's powers expanded dramatically after his twenty-fifth birthday in 1982 when he discovered the full extent of his talents enhanced by a Voodoo Spirit God known as 'The Duke,' who maintains his own mysterious agendas. The narrative takes a critical turn when Orion learns that his previously unknown grandmother is the powerful Voodoo Imperatrice. Her attempt to manipulate him into using the Labauve Signet to control spirits forces Orion to confront a difficult choice: find the Signet and potentially destroy everything he holds dear to stop her ambitions.

The series represents author L. L. Blacke's deep engagement with fantasy and horror genres, drawing from over thirty years of experience in the science fiction and fantasy community. Blacke will be appearing at Milehicon from October 31 through November 2, connecting with readers and fans of speculative fiction. The publisher, Foolscap and Quill, brings over 35 years of experience in distributing books, ebooks, and audiobooks to the market.

"Search for the Signet" is currently available through various online booksellers and physical bookstores worldwide, with the second installment, "Spectral Promises," scheduled for release before the end of September. The series explores themes of heritage, power, and moral responsibility within a richly developed supernatural framework that challenges conventional boundaries between reality and the fantastical.
