Nicola Mining Ramps Up Multi-Source Precious Metal Production in British Columbia
Nicola Mining Inc. has begun processing high-grade gold and silver ore at its Merritt Mill, positioning itself for expanded production and strategic partnerships across multiple mining projects in British Columbia.
Nicola Mining Inc. has initiated gold and silver ore processing at its $33 million Merritt Mill, marking a significant milestone in the company's operational strategy. The facility, currently the only permitted mill in British Columbia capable of accepting third-party precious metal feed, is expected to reach full production capacity by the third quarter of 2025.
The company is diversifying its production sources by preparing to receive ore from multiple projects. In addition to processing materials from Talisker Resources, Nicola is set to accept ore from Blue Lagoon Resources' Dome Mountain Mine and is advancing a bulk sample at its Dominion Creek project, where it holds a 75% ownership stake.
Concurrently, Nicola is expanding its operational scope by ramping up exploration at the New Craigmont Copper Project and has recently appointed Vicente García as Senior Geologist. The company has also initiated a permit amendment to increase mill throughput, signaling its commitment to scaling production capabilities.
CEO Peter Espig emphasized the strategic importance of the company's fully permitted infrastructure and long-term partnerships. This approach positions Nicola Mining to become a steady-state producer in the precious metals sector, leveraging its unique mill facility and diverse project portfolio.
