Northern Data Group Strengthens Leadership Team with Key Executive Appointments
Northern Data Group's strategic leadership reshuffle positions the AI and HPC solutions provider for accelerated growth by bringing in experienced executives from major technology companies while promoting internal talent.

Northern Data Group AG has announced significant leadership changes that reinforce the company's position in the competitive AI and High-Performance Computing market. The German technology firm appointed John Hoffman to its Management Board as co-CEO alongside founder Aroosh Thillainathan, effective immediately. Hoffman previously served as Group Chief Operating Officer, where he played a central role in transforming Northern Data Group into an AI industry leader with one of Europe's largest AI clouds managing over 22,000 GPUs.
The leadership restructuring reflects Northern Data Group's commitment to strengthening its executive team as the company pursues ambitious growth targets. Hoffman brings nearly two decades of experience advising companies at the intersection of capital markets and technology to his expanded role. His promotion to co-CEO signals the company's focus on maintaining momentum in the rapidly evolving AI infrastructure sector, where Northern Data operates through its Taiga Cloud business with one of Europe's largest GPU clusters.
Scott Bailey succeeds Hoffman as Group Chief Operating Officer, bringing nearly 30 years of experience across energy, technology, and data center innovation. Bailey's background includes serving as CEO of USystems, a UK-based manufacturer of cooling systems, positioning him to ensure operational excellence across Northern Data's expanding infrastructure portfolio. The company's Ardent Data Centers business has approximately 250MW of power deployed or coming online across eight global data centers by 2027.
Northern Data Group also appointed Chandan Rajah as Group Chief Technology Officer, adding significant technology leadership experience from major companies including AWS and Facebook. With more than 25 years in the industry, Rajah will lead the Group's technology and product roadmap, overseeing the delivery of reliable platforms for AI cloud and high-performance computing solutions. This appointment comes as demand for AI infrastructure continues to grow globally.
The leadership updates follow Charlotte Park's recent promotion from Global VP People to Group Chief People Officer, highlighting the importance of culture and talent development in Northern Data Group's strategy. Park brings 15 years of experience scaling organizations to her new role, where she will continue shaping the Group's people strategy during a period of rapid expansion.
CEO Aroosh Thillainathan emphasized that these appointments solidify a diverse range of expertise that will drive Northern Data Group's long-term success. The company's focus on leveraging high-density, liquid-cooled, GPU-based technology positions it to support innovative companies requiring advanced computing capabilities. These leadership changes demonstrate Northern Data Group's strategic positioning to capitalize on the growing demand for AI and HPC solutions while maintaining operational excellence across its global operations.
