Opawica Exploration Targets Significant Gold Potential at Bazooka Property Along Cadillac-Larder Lake Break
Opawica Explorations Inc. has identified a conceptual exploration target of 10 to 40 million tonnes grading 0.9 to 1.45 grams per tonne gold at its Bazooka Property, positioning the company in one of the world's most prolific gold-bearing structures adjacent to established mining operations.

Opawica Explorations Inc. has announced a conceptual exploration target at its Bazooka Property, strategically positioned along the Cadillac-Larder Lake Break, one of the world's most productive gold-bearing structures. The company is exploring for a target ranging from 10 to 40 million tonnes grading between 0.9 to 1.45 grams per tonne gold, based on current geological understanding and historical drilling data.
The significance of this announcement lies in the property's strategic location adjacent to Yamana Gold's Wasamac Project and within a district actively explored by major producers including Agnico Eagle Mines. The Bazooka Property covers seven kilometres of the prolific Cadillac-Larder Lake Break, placing Opawica in one of the most sought-after gold exploration regions globally. The Abitibi greenstone belt, where the property is located, represents the largest Archean greenstone belt in the world and the second richest gold mining district in the Abitibi region.
The exploration target is supported by 210 drill holes totaling 51,219 meters, with mineralization hosted within a 60-meter-wide zone of quartz-carbonate-sericite and talc-chlorite schists known as the Main Zone. High-grade intercepts from historical drilling provide compelling evidence of the property's potential, including results such as 77.18 g/t over 5.79 meters and 25.77 g/t over 7.5 meters. These intercepts confirm the presence of sulphide-bearing quartz veins with visible gold within the most intensely altered zones.
The geological setting features a 20-60 meter wide deformation corridor with intense alteration including carbonate, silica, fuchsite, and tourmaline. The mineralization is spatially associated with a strongly graphitic fault marking the contact between sedimentary and ultramafic metavolcanic rocks. While the potential quantity and grade remain conceptual in nature, the historical data and strategic positioning suggest significant exploration upside.
Investors should note that there has not been sufficient drilling to define a mineral resource, and current drill spacing remains too limited to classify any portion of the target as an Inferred Mineral Resource. The company emphasizes that there is no certainty that further exploration will result in the delineation of a mineral resource. The announcement highlights the ongoing potential of the Cadillac-Larder Lake Break for new gold discoveries, particularly given the region's history of high-grade gold production and the presence of established mining operations in the immediate vicinity. The conceptual target, if realized through future exploration success, could position Opawica as a significant player in one of Canada's most important gold districts.
