Orbis has announced the appointment of Mark White as its new Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO), marking a significant addition to its leadership team. White's extensive background in financial and administrative leadership within the international NGO sector positions him as a pivotal figure in advancing Orbis's mission to combat preventable blindness worldwide.
With a career spanning over two decades, White's previous roles include serving as Chief Financial Officer at Alight and holding leadership positions at Habitat for Humanity International across various global offices. His expertise in strategic planning, finance, and human resources is expected to enhance Orbis's operational efficiency and global outreach.
Orbis CEO Diana Wheeler highlighted White's proven track record and his commitment to fostering collaboration and development within teams. White's personal experience with eye care, following a sports-related eye injury, underscores his dedication to Orbis's cause, emphasizing the importance of accessible eye care services.
White's academic credentials include a Master of Science in taxation from DePaul University and a B.A. in accounting from Fort Lewis College. His recognition as CFO of the Year in the large nonprofit category by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal in 2023 further attests to his leadership excellence.
