Our Fund Foundation Boosts Support for LGBTQ Agencies in South Florida
The Our Fund Foundation has increased its annual distribution to 6% to aid LGBTQ-serving agencies in South Florida, responding to government funding cuts and political challenges.

The Our Fund Foundation has announced an increase in its annual endowed asset distribution from 5% to 6%, providing an additional $92,000 in grant dollars to support LGBTQ-serving agencies in South Florida. This decision comes at a critical time when these organizations face growing political attacks and funding restrictions. The Foundation's move is aimed at ensuring the survival and continuity of services that are vital to the LGBTQ community.
David Jobin, President and CEO of The Our Fund Foundation, emphasized the importance of this increase, stating that the additional 1% could be crucial for the agencies supported by the Foundation. With nearly $25 million in assets, the Foundation is recognized as a leading LGBTQ-specific funder, committed to using its resources boldly to foster a safer and more vibrant future for the community.
This marks only the second time in the Foundation's 15-year history that it has raised its payout rate above the national standard, the first being during the COVID-19 pandemic to address urgent needs. Scott Bennett, Chair of the Board of Directors, highlighted the Foundation's role in stepping up when public funding for LGBTQ organizations is dwindling, underscoring the importance of taking action in response to current challenges.
The increased distribution will benefit agencies within the Foundation's network that are directly affected by recent funding cuts and political targeting. As the sole LGBTQ-specific community foundation in the Southeastern United States, The Our Fund Foundation continues to champion equality through philanthropy and strategic investments, reinforcing its commitment to the LGBTQ community in South Florida.
