Palladium USA Launches $107 Million Mixed-Income Housing Development Near Dallas DART Station

Palladium USA has commenced construction on Palladium Buckner Station, a $107 million mixed-income housing development in Southeast Dallas that promises to transform housing accessibility in the region. The project, located adjacent to the Buckner DART Station at 400 S. Buckner Boulevard, represents a significant investment in creating more equitable housing opportunities while leveraging public transportation infrastructure to enhance resident mobility.

The development will feature 304 thoughtfully designed residences, including one-, two-, and three-bedroom units configured to serve diverse household needs. A substantial portion of the housing stock—244 units—will be available at below-market rates for families earning up to 60% of the area median income, while 60 units will be offered at market rates. The community will also include 30 three-bedroom, two-story townhomes, providing additional affordable housing options within a walkable, transit-oriented neighborhood.

Tom Huth, President and CEO of Palladium USA, emphasized the project's significance during the October 2, 2025 groundbreaking ceremony. "Construction has started, and we are proud to break ground on this transformational community, which reflects Palladium USA's ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, mixed-income housing in Dallas," Huth stated. "The property will deliver 304 thoughtfully designed homes with convenient access to public transportation."

The strategic location adjacent to the Buckner DART Station positions the development to significantly reduce transportation costs for residents while providing easy access to employment centers, educational institutions, and commercial districts throughout the Dallas metropolitan area. This transit-oriented approach aligns with broader urban planning goals of reducing vehicle dependency and promoting sustainable community development.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., featured remarks from community leaders and development partners, a ceremonial soil turn, project renderings, refreshments, and branded promotional items. The event marked a pivotal moment for Southeast Dallas, signaling progress toward addressing the region's affordable housing challenges while creating more integrated, accessible communities. This development comes at a critical time when many urban areas face escalating housing costs that outpace income growth. By dedicating approximately 80% of its units to below-market rates while maintaining high construction standards and strategic location advantages, Palladium Buckner Station establishes a model for how private development can contribute to solving systemic housing affordability issues without compromising on quality or community integration.
