Panthers Coach Brings Stanley Cup to Parkland Wellness Center, Reinforcing Community Healing Through Sports
Florida Panthers Goaltending Coach Robb Tallas brought the Stanley Cup to Eagles' Haven Wellness Center, providing inspiration and healing to survivors and families affected by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy.

Florida Panthers Goaltending Coach Robb Tallas shared his day with the Stanley Cup at Eagles' Haven Wellness Center, bringing the iconic trophy to survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy and victims' families. The visit marked Tallas' second consecutive year choosing to celebrate with the Stoneman Douglas community following the Panthers' championship victories.
The event held significant meaning for the Parkland and Coral Springs community, where Tallas maintains strong ties through his Robb Tallas Goalie Development School based at the Panthers IceDen. Rebecca Jarquin, Director of Eagles' Haven Wellness Center, emphasized the impact of Tallas' gesture, noting that his decision to bring the Stanley Cup there demonstrates his deep connection to the community and provides meaningful support to those affected by the 2018 tragedy.
Founded in the aftermath of the shooting, Eagles' Haven has served as a vital support system since opening in 2019, providing free crisis support, navigation services, wellness programs, and support groups. The center operates through funding from the Children's Services Council and BBHC via a state appropriation managed by former Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff of Becker and Poliakoff law firm. Community members can learn more about the center's services at https://www.eaglehaven.org.
During the visit, attendees including local officials such as Rep. Hunschofsky, Chief Mock, and Mayor Walker had the opportunity to take photos with the Cup and engage with Coach Tallas about his journey with the Panthers. The wellness center, powered by JAFCO, continues to offer mental health services and a safe space for connection and healing, with additional information available at https://www.jafco.org about their mission supporting children and families impacted by trauma.
The event represents how sports can serve as a unifying force in communities recovering from tragedy, providing moments of joy and inspiration while reinforcing the ongoing importance of mental health support and community healing initiatives.
