Platinum Group Metals Advances Waterberg Project, Poised to Meet Global PGM Demand

Platinum Group Metals is advancing its Waterberg Project in South Africa, a large-scale platinum group metals (PGM) mine expected to be among the world's largest and most cost-effective underground operations. The project's recent definitive feasibility study reveals significant potential for meeting surging global PGM requirements.

The Waterberg Project, located in the Bushveld Complex, is designed to produce 353,208 ounces annually of platinum, palladium, rhodium, and gold, along with substantial copper and nickel by-products. The mine's unique geological characteristics, featuring thick and shallow ore bodies, enable safer and more efficient mining techniques.

As global demand for PGMs continues to rise, particularly in automotive manufacturing, electronics, and clean energy technologies, this project represents a critical strategic asset. The 54-year projected mine life positions Platinum Group Metals to be a long-term, reliable supplier of these essential metals.

The project is being jointly developed with Implats, Mnombo, and HJM, leveraging collaborative expertise to maximize operational efficiency and economic potential. With its robust economic projections and strategic location, the Waterberg Project is poised to play a significant role in meeting global metal supply needs.
