Puerto Rico's Day at the Ballpark, a series of cultural celebrations honoring Puerto Rico's 128-year baseball legacy, returns for its fourth season in 2026, with the first event scheduled for June 9 at Citi Field during the St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Mets game. The series, produced by 21 Events in collaboration with Discover Puerto Rico, has grown into a marquee cultural activation, generating more than 6 billion impressions, reaching over 128 million people nationwide, and welcoming over half a million attendees in its first three years.

The 2026 season kicks off at Citi Field, where Puerto Rican superstar Francisco Lindor will be honored during a pregame ceremony recognizing his contributions on and off the field. Fans will experience activations including a scoreboard presentation showcasing Puerto Rico's beauty, stadium signage, VIP hospitality, Puerto Rican music, and a limited-quantity commemorative Mets t-shirt giveaway. Attendees can also enter to win a trip for two to Puerto Rico, including roundtrip airfare and a four-day, three-night hotel stay, encouraging them to experience the island's culture and hospitality firsthand.

According to Jorge L. Pérez, CEO of Discover Puerto Rico, the series has become a powerful platform for sharing the spirit of the island with U.S. audiences, celebrating Puerto Rican players and showcasing the island's culture, energy, and hospitality. He noted that the series strengthens connections with communities across the country and inspires fans to visit Puerto Rico.

Ralph Paniagua, Managing Director of 21 Events, emphasized the series' growth over the past three years into one of the most impactful cultural celebrations in sports. He highlighted that Francisco Lindor embodies the passion, excellence, and pride of Puerto Rican baseball, making him the perfect player to launch the 2026 season. Additional stops are planned in Texas, Colorado, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, with honorees including Willi Castro, Edwin Díaz, and Kiké Hernández.

With average attendance exceeding 30,000 fans per event, the series continues to generate meaningful exposure for Puerto Rico across major U.S. markets. Discover Puerto Rico, a private not-for-profit destination marketing organization, aims to make the island visible as a premier travel destination, collaborating with local stakeholders to promote economic growth.
