Qualys Introduces Agentic AI for Autonomous Cybersecurity Risk Management
Qualys launches Agentic AI capabilities to autonomously manage and remediate cybersecurity risks, enhancing efficiency and reducing operational costs.

Qualys, Inc. has announced the launch of its Agentic AI-driven Risk Operations Center, a pioneering step towards autonomous risk management in cybersecurity. This innovation introduces a marketplace of Cyber Risk AI Agents designed to provide real-time risk insights across all attack surfaces, prioritized by their potential business impact. The integration of Agentic AI into the Qualys platform signifies a transformative approach to handling the increasing volume and sophistication of cyber threats, which have been challenging for security teams to manage manually.
The new AI fabric by Qualys aims to eliminate the repetitive tasks that bog down security teams, enabling autonomous, risk-focused workflows. According to Tyler Shields, principal analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG), the adoption of Agentic AI represents a significant advancement from reactive response mechanisms to proactive, real-time risk reduction strategies. This shift not only accelerates the process of risk mitigation but also optimizes resource allocation and enhances the accuracy of recommended actions, thereby redefining the role of security teams from tactical responders to strategic orchestrators of AI-driven security measures.
Embedded within the Enterprise TruRisk Management (ETM) framework, the Agentic AI capabilities enhance Qualys' risk-centric automation, facilitating quicker and more informed decision-making. The platform now features pre-built AI agents that automate the prioritization of threats and tailor remediation strategies to align with each organization's specific risk tolerance and operational environment. Additionally, the introduction of the Cyber Risk Assistant offers a prompt-driven interface that aids teams in navigating the complexities of cyber risk management, translating vast arrays of exposures into actionable, context-aware insights.
The Qualys Marketplace further extends the utility of Agentic AI by offering ready-to-use AI agents that provide continuous risk insights and prioritization from fragmented exposures. These agents are designed to autonomously discover and assess external attack surfaces, proactively evaluate risks against industry trends, and prioritize them based on the unique context of the organization's assets and environment. Moreover, the Adaptive Risk Remediation AI Agents, such as the Microsoft Patch Tuesday Lifecycle Agent, are tailored to reduce the mean time to remediation (MTTR) by correlating vulnerabilities with effective remediation techniques and asset-specific contexts.
Sumedh Thakar, president and CEO of Qualys, emphasized the transformative potential of Agentic AI in revolutionizing cyber risk management and empowering a more agile and intelligent Risk Operations Center. By augmenting security teams with AI agents capable of autonomous analysis and decisive action, organizations can achieve faster, more strategic, and efficient risk reduction.
