Quantum BioPharma Highlights Lucid-MS and unbuzzd Growth Potential in BioMedWire Podcast

Quantum BioPharma Ltd. (NASDAQ: QNTM) (CSE: QNTM) was featured on the latest episode of The BioMedWire Podcast, where co-founder and executive co-chair Anthony Durkacz discussed the company's lead drug candidate, Lucid-MS, and its commercial product, unbuzzd. Durkacz emphasized that Lucid-MS targets nerve damage to address mobility loss in multiple sclerosis, an area he believes remains unmet by current treatments.

The company is preparing for a Phase 2 clinical trial for Lucid-MS, which will be the first study to evaluate the drug candidate in multiple sclerosis patients, following Phase 1 testing in healthy volunteers. According to the press release, Lucid-MS is a patented new chemical entity shown to prevent and reverse myelin degradation in preclinical models. Myelin degradation is the underlying mechanism of multiple sclerosis, a chronic disease affecting the central nervous system.

In addition to its pipeline, Quantum BioPharma has a commercial product, unbuzzd, designed to accelerate blood alcohol metabolism. The product is currently available in the U.S. market. Quantum spun out the over-the-counter version to Unbuzzd Wellness Inc. (formerly Celly Nutrition Corp.), in which Quantum retains a 19.84% ownership stake as of March 31, 2026. The agreement also includes royalty payments of 7% of sales from unbuzzd until payments total $250 million, after which the royalty drops to 3% in perpetuity. Quantum retains full rights to develop similar products for pharmaceutical and medical uses.

The podcast appearance highlights Quantum BioPharma's dual strategy of advancing a novel therapy for a significant unmet medical need while generating revenue from a consumer health product. The upcoming Phase 2 trial for Lucid-MS represents a critical milestone, as positive results could position the drug as a potential treatment for multiple sclerosis patients who currently lack options targeting nerve damage directly.
