Ralph Lauren Corporation appoints Angela Ahrendts as new Lead Independent Director, marking a significant step in its board evolution strategy.

Ralph Lauren Corporation has announced a significant update to its Board of Directors, with Angela Ahrendts set to become the new Lead Independent Director following the Company's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. Ahrendts, who has been a member of the Ralph Lauren Board since August 2018, currently chairs the Finance Committee and serves on the Nominating, Governance, and Sustainability Committee. This move is part of the company's broader strategy to evolve its board, ensuring a diversity of backgrounds, skills, and experiences among its members.
Ahrendts will succeed Hubert Joly, who after 16 years of dedicated service, will not seek reelection. Joly, appointed to the board in June 2009 and serving as Lead Independent Director since 2021, has been pivotal in the board's evolution. His contributions have been instrumental in guiding the company's strategy and fostering a culture of passion and dedication. Ralph Lauren, Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, expressed gratitude for Joly's leadership and welcomed Ahrendts's new role, highlighting her innovative perspective and valuable guidance.
Patrice Louvet, President & Chief Executive Officer, also acknowledged the board's strength and durability, attributing part of the company's success to the diverse experiences of its members. With Joly's departure, the board will consist of 11 directors, with Ahrendts's appointment effective after her re-election at the 2025 Annual Meeting. This transition underscores Ralph Lauren's commitment to leadership excellence and strategic governance as it continues to inspire the dream of a better life through authenticity and timeless style.
