Rare 2017 Ford GT in Riviera Blue Joins Ron Sturgeon Collection at DFW Car & Toy Museum

The 2017 Ford GT, a modern iteration of the legendary GT40, has found a new home in the Ron Sturgeon Collection at the DFW Car & Toy Museum. This particular model stands out for its rare Riviera Blue finish from Ford's Extended Color Palette 2, a $30,000 option, making it possibly the only one of its kind for the model year. Enhanced with a $15,000 gloss carbon-fiber exterior package, the car combines elegance with aggression.

Powered by a 647-horsepower, 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine, the GT can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under three seconds, reaching a top speed of 216 mph. Its seven-speed Getrag dual-clutch transmission and Dark Energy-themed cockpit, featuring an F1-style steering wheel and fixed Sparco carbon-fiber seats, underscore its racing pedigree and technological advancements.

Unique to this vehicle is the absence of the NVH panel over the rear bulkhead, revealing a raw carbon-fiber finish, a feature believed to be exclusive to this model. Serial number H040 pays homage to the original GT40, blending Ford's rich racing history with contemporary supercar design.

Now on display at the DFW Car & Toy Museum, this Ford GT not only celebrates automotive excellence but also serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of Ford's performance division and the vision of collectors like Ron Sturgeon.
