Road to Responsibility Expands Disability Support Services with New Taunton Residence

Road to Responsibility has opened a new residential program in Taunton, Massachusetts, expanding critical support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The newly constructed single-story residence on Range Avenue will house several current RTR members with disabilities and autism who have aged out of the educational system, while also creating opportunities for others on the waiting list for similar services through the Department of Developmental Services.

The facility, developed by long-time RTR partner Patriot Investment Corp. of South Easton and leased to the organization, offers a supportive environment with comprehensive services, 24-hour staffing, and independent living options including smart technology. This expansion represents a significant step in addressing the increasing demand for high-quality supportive housing across the region.

Christopher T. White, Ed.D., president and CEO of Road to Responsibility, emphasized the importance of this development, stating that it marks another crucial step in expanding the organization's reach. As demand continues to grow, RTR remains committed to developing supportive homes that empower individuals to live more independently and with dignity. The organization's partnership with Patriot Investment Corp. has been instrumental in making these vital expansions possible.

Road to Responsibility, established in 1988 with the belief that individuals with disabilities deserve full, rich, and rewarding lives in the community, has been making lives better for over 37 years. The organization offers residential, work/employment, day habilitation and other day supports to individuals with diverse needs, including those with significant challenges who might otherwise go unserved. Their integrated clinical behavioral approach has proven successful where other organizations often fail.

The Taunton residence adds to RTR's network of 49 residences and cooperative living apartments across the South Shore and South Coast of Massachusetts. For more information about Road to Responsibility's services and programs, visit https://www.roadtoresponsibility.org.
