Ronald McDonald House of Dallas Seeks Volunteers for 38th Annual Holiday Train Exhibit

The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas is calling on the North Texas community to volunteer for the 38th annual Trains at NorthPark exhibit, a cherished holiday tradition that serves as a vital fundraising initiative for families with children receiving critical medical care. The event, which runs from November 15, 2025, through January 4, 2026, at NorthPark Center, relies heavily on volunteer support to operate successfully and achieve its fundraising goals.

Volunteers play an essential role in the event's operations, with responsibilities including greeting guests, monitoring the exhibit, selling tickets and merchandise, and helping families create lasting holiday memories. The organization particularly needs volunteers during weekdays to ensure smooth operation throughout the eight-week exhibit. Jill Cumnock, CEO of Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, emphasized that volunteers are the heart of this event, stating that their time and energy directly support the mission of keeping families close to the medical care their children require.

This year's event marks the 17th consecutive year that Bank of Texas has served as presenting sponsor for The Trains at NorthPark. The tradition aims to raise more than $1.1 million to support RMHD's mission of providing a home-away-from-home for families with children receiving treatment at Dallas-area hospitals. The fundraising aspect of this event is critical, as it enables the organization to continue offering housing and support services to families during their most challenging times.

The volunteer opportunity is open to individuals, school groups, corporate teams, and families looking to give back during the holiday season. Prospective volunteers must be at least 15 years old and can sign up for shifts through the official Trains at NorthPark volunteer registration website. Jane Finan, volunteer services manager at RMHD, noted that the organization couldn't make the event happen without dedicated volunteers who generously give their time to support families and spread holiday cheer.

Beyond volunteer opportunities, this year's exhibit will feature several new attractions, including the Art on the Rails auction and Choo-Choo Tales live story-time performances. The event will also offer Sensory Hours made possible by Children's Health, ensuring accessibility for visitors with sensory sensitivities. The exhibit will be located on Level One of NorthPark Center, continuing its tradition of bringing holiday magic to the Dallas community while supporting a crucial cause.
