Safe Pro Group Delivers AI-Powered Threat Detection System to U.S. Army Under $743K Contract

Safe Pro Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAI) announced it has completed a U.S. Army order valued at approximately $743,000 for its AI-powered Threat Analysis Kit. The system combines the company’s NODE edge-computing platform with Black Widow drones from Red Cat Holdings (NASDAQ: RCAT) to provide a field-ready battlefield intelligence solution. The kit is designed to process drone-captured video and rapidly identify threats such as landmines, unexploded ordnance, cluster munitions, and hostile drones, while generating detailed 2D and 3D battlefield maps for situational awareness.

The delivery follows a recent subcontract from a defense prime contractor to provide the U.S. Army with battlefield intelligence capabilities powered by Safe Pro’s patented SPOTD technology. The company plans to train Army personnel before the end of June and provide operational support through the third quarter of 2026. Safe Pro’s AI models are trained on a database of more than 2.8 million drone images and over 50,000 confirmed threat detections collected across more than 35,000 acres in Ukraine, enabling rapid threat identification in high-risk environments.

This development underscores the growing reliance on artificial intelligence and unmanned systems in modern warfare. By integrating AI-powered analysis with commercial drones, Safe Pro offers a safer and more efficient alternative to traditional human-based methods for detecting explosive threats. The system’s ability to generate real-time battlefield maps could significantly improve decision-making for military personnel, reducing risks and enhancing operational effectiveness.

The contract also highlights the increasing collaboration between defense contractors and technology firms. Red Cat Holdings’ Black Widow drones provide a versatile platform for the system, while Safe Pro’s cloud-based ecosystem, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensures scalability for multiple markets including commercial, government, law enforcement, and humanitarian sectors. The company’s solutions are already being deployed in Ukraine, where the extensive database of drone imagery has proved valuable for threat detection.
