Sarah M. Allen Honored with 2025 Excellence Award by The Boston Estate Planning Council

Sarah M. Allen, JD, LL.M., AEP®, a shareholder and director at Rice, Heard & Bigelow, has been awarded the 2025 Excellence Award by the Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC). This prestigious accolade acknowledges her professional excellence in estate planning and her significant contributions to the community. Allen was recognized during the BEPC's Annual Gala on May 21, 2025, at the Sheraton Boston Hotel.

Robert G. Bannish, President of RHB, praised Allen for her dedication and leadership, highlighting her role as a professional trustee and family advisor, as well as her two decades of experience in estate planning law. Allen's involvement with the BEPC includes serving on various committees, as a board member, and as president from 2019 to 2020. Her commitment to the field is further demonstrated by her past receipt of the BEPC President’s Award and her leadership roles with the Boston Foundation’s Professional Advisor Committee and Professional Advisor Network.

Allen's career began at Pabian & Russell, LLC, where she was a partner and co-manager of the estate planning department before joining Rice, Heard & Bigelow. She holds a bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University and both her JD and LL.M. in taxation from Boston University School of Law. Rice, Heard & Bigelow, the oldest company of individual professional trustees in the U.S., is known for its unique structure that emphasizes personal service through long-standing trustee relationships.
