SevensCutAbove Opens at Salon and Spa Galleria in Weatherford, Offering Sensory-Safe Haircuts

Licensed barber Seven Nelson has opened SevensCutAbove at the Salon and Spa Galleria Fort Worth Highway in Weatherford, Texas, offering a range of barber services with a focus on sensory-safe haircuts for clients with special needs or haircut trauma. The new shop began accepting appointments on June 8, 2026.

Nelson, a graduate of Weatherford College's Barber Program, brings two years of industry experience to his own business. Growing up as the child of a hairstylist, he learned the trade by watching his mother work. His passion for cutting hair has led him to open his own shop, where he emphasizes a relaxed atmosphere and attention to detail. “I take my time with each client, to make certain that I execute the image they had in mind, along with providing laidback, chill vibes,” Nelson said. “It's important to me that every client leaves feeling confident again.”

SevensCutAbove offers sharp, detailed cuts including fades, low drops, tapers, hot-lather shaves, and beard shape-ups. However, Nelson’s specialization in sensory-safe cuts sets the business apart. These cuts are designed for individuals with sensory issues due to special needs or past haircut trauma. Accommodations include a soothing environment with softer lighting or quieter spaces, flexible pacing with breaks, and the use of scissors instead of clippers if needed. “As a sensory-safe barber, I've learned how to work with kids on the spectrum,” Nelson said. “My goal is to create trust, not trauma.”

Additional services include quick line-ups around the ears and neckline, partial or full-face hot-lather shaves, and simple cornrows. SevensCutAbove is accepting new clients by appointment only, and bookings can be made through Nelson's booking site.

To celebrate the grand opening, new clients receive a five-dollar discount on their third haircut and a ten-dollar discount on their sixth cut. The salon is conveniently located near major roadways, serving Weatherford, Hudson Oaks, Willow Park, Brock, Aledo, Walsh Ranch, and Mineral Wells.
