Shincheonji Taekwondo Team Dominates at 2025 International Cup
The Shincheonji Taekwondo team's remarkable success at the 2025 Park Chung-hee Cup International Open Taekwondo Competition highlights their growing dominance and the cultural significance of Taekwondo in Korea.

The Shincheonji Church of Jesus Taekwondo Team has once again demonstrated their prowess on the international stage, securing a total of 25 medals at the '2025 Park Chung-hee Cup International Open Taekwondo Competition'. Held at the Sangju Indoor Gymnasium in Gyeongbuk, the event saw approximately 4,200 athletes from 18 countries competing across various disciplines, including poomsae, breaking, and sparring.
Despite a short preparation period, the Shincheonji team's focused training and dedication paid off, with athletes winning 4 gold, 7 silver, and 14 bronze medals. This achievement not only underscores the team's technical excellence but also enhances Korea's cultural and diplomatic stature as the birthplace of Taekwondo.
Lee Jun-wi, a gold medalist, attributed their success to concentrated effort within the limited training time, while Coach Kim Deok-hoon expressed pride in the team's unwavering performance against high-level competition.
