Someburros Expands Arizona Footprint with Three New Restaurant Locations
Arizona-based family restaurant chain Someburros is accelerating its expansion with three new locations in Surprise, Peoria, and Maricopa, marking a significant growth phase for the homegrown business as it approaches 20 restaurants statewide.

The popular fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain Someburros has secured three new Arizona locations through Phoenix-based retail brokerage specialist Western Retail Advisors, bringing the hometown business closer to its 20-restaurant statewide milestone. The expansion represents an accelerated growth strategy for the family-owned company, which has recently shifted from opening one new location every three years to now opening one or two locations annually.
The latest acquisition involves 1.21 acres at 42618 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, at the northwest corner of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and Stonegate Road in Maricopa. The new Someburros will be situated within Stonegate, an emerging retail center anchored by Home Depot and Starbucks. The 3,519-square-foot restaurant will feature a main dining room, drive-thru, covered patio, and will offer both online ordering and third-party delivery services.
This marks the third new restaurant site that Western Retail Advisors has helped Someburros complete this year. The other locations include an outparcel pad within Sycamore Farms, a Barclay-owned retail center at the southwest corner of Cactus and Sarival roads in Surprise, currently under construction with a grand opening scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. Additionally, the company acquired 1.15 acres within the Shops at Lake Pleasant, a Vestar development near the southwest corner of Yearling Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria, establishing its second Someburros location in that city with an expected summer 2026 opening.
Tim Vasquez, owner and third-generation restaurateur of Someburros, emphasized the company's commitment to maintaining its community-focused approach while expanding. "We are a proud Arizona-based, family owned company dedicated to providing a dining experience that feels like an extension of home," said Vasquez. "That includes maintaining the quality and affordability of our nanna's recipes, and the community spirit that defines us – while also finding ways to thoughtfully expand."
The expansion strategy extends beyond traditional restaurant locations, with the company recently signing agreements with the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks for locations within both State Farm Stadium and Chase Field. These partnerships represent significant brand visibility opportunities for the growing chain. The new announcements follow a June 2025 Someburros grand opening within SimonCRE's Roosevelt Commons retail center in Buckeye.
Alberto Caballero of Western Retail Advisors, who represented Someburros in the Maricopa land acquisition along with Dave Uhles, explained the strategic approach to site selection. "Our site selection process for Someburros focuses not only on the real estate but also on opportunities to truly become part of the neighborhood," said Caballero. "Every new site is chosen with these aspirations in mind, aligning with the company's desire to help strengthen the fabric of the communities it serves."
Founded in 1986 with its first location in Tempe, Someburros has grown to 17 locations across Arizona, all offering made-from-scratch, Sonoran-style dishes based on family recipes. The current expansion represents the most aggressive growth period in the company's nearly four-decade history, signaling confidence in both the Arizona market and the chain's ability to maintain its quality standards while scaling operations.
