SPARC Health Rebrands and Showcases Inaugural Cohort Achievements

SPARC Health has announced its rebrand from the Utah Healthcare Innovation Network, a move that aligns more closely with its mission as a 'Startup Platform for Advice, Resources, and Community.' This change underscores the organization's dedication to supporting innovation within Utah's life science and healthcare sectors. Currently, SPARC Health is celebrating the midway point of its inaugural cohort program, which has already seen remarkable successes among its nine participating health tech companies.

The cohort's curriculum has covered essential topics for early-stage companies, including structured growth strategies, avoiding common pitfalls, fundraising fundamentals, and entrepreneurial skill development. Among the cohort's achievements, Bloom Surgical has closed a $1 million seed funding round and expanded its team, while RefloDx secured $250,000 in investments after winning a competition and presenting at an international conference. Another company is in talks to add a new executive team member.

SPARC Health is also inviting the community to its upcoming 'Startup Huddle' on July 7th at the Salt Mine productive workspace in Sandy. This event offers a platform for startups to present challenges and receive guidance from health tech leaders and investors. Diagnostic Ventures and RefloDx, two cohort companies, will be featured at the huddle. The organization's efforts are a testament to its commitment to fostering a vibrant ecosystem for healthcare startups in Utah.
