Teck Resources Renews Sponsorship with BC Alpine Ski Association, Strengthening Youth Skiing Programs

Teck Resources Limited has committed to another five-year sponsorship with BC Alpine Ski Association, ensuring continued support for alpine ski racing development throughout British Columbia. The partnership, which spans from the 2025-26 to 2030-31 seasons, will sustain critical youth skiing programs and community engagement initiatives.

Since 2008, Teck has been a pivotal sponsor of the Teck U14 and U16 race series, supporting young athletes aged 11 to 16 across the province. The company's involvement extends beyond financial support, with many Teck employees actively volunteering and participating in local ski clubs.

BC Alpine CEO Anders Hestdalen emphasized the significance of sustained programming, crediting the Teck partnership for helping develop world-class athletes who have competed in World Championships and the Olympics. The organization supports 32 ski clubs and over 6,700 members, hosting more than 50 ski race events annually between December and April.

Carleigh Whitman, Head of Social Performance & Indigenous Relations at Teck, highlighted the importance of supporting youth engagement and providing opportunities to enjoy British Columbia's natural landscape through skiing.

This continued sponsorship represents a significant investment in youth sports development, community building, and promoting active lifestyles among young British Columbians.
