Texas Law Firm Rebrands as Patel, Soni, Barsness, & Prescott Following Partner Promotions

Patel Law Group, a Texas-based boutique law firm, has announced its rebranding to PSBP Law, also known as Patel, Soni, Barsness, & Prescott, following the promotion of two partners to equity status. Chris Prescott, who leads the immigration department, and Chris Barsness, head of the corporate and securities department, have joined Rakesh Patel, Anish Patel, and Shameer Soni as equity partners. The firm will transition to the new name over the coming months.

Chris Prescott, originally a solicitor in the U.K., brings over 15 years of immigration experience to his practice. He represents clients across the U.S. in employment-based matters such as H-1B, L-1, and E-2 visas, as well as family-based cases including spousal petitions and naturalization. Chris Barsness, with over 24 years of experience, focuses on business transactions, complex financings, investment funds, M&A, and securities matters. He relocated from California to join the firm four years ago.

Rakesh Patel, who leads the EB-5 investment visa immigration practice, stated that the change reflects the firm's dedication to expanding its client base and exceeding expectations in areas such as asset protection, estate planning, immigration, securities, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and investment funds. Existing clients will continue to receive the same level of service under the new name. The firm emphasizes its commitment to efficiency and results-driven legal services for local, regional, and international clients, leveraging broad experience and extensive relationships to achieve client objectives.

The rebranding underscores the firm's strategic growth and enhanced capabilities, particularly in immigration and corporate law, which are critical for businesses and individuals navigating complex regulatory environments. This move may attract more clients seeking specialized expertise in these areas, reinforcing the firm's position in the competitive legal market. The promotion of Prescott and Barsness to equity partners highlights the firm's investment in leadership and its focus on long-term stability and expansion.
