The Reservoir and Naturipe Berry Growers Partner to Enhance Strawberry Farming Innovation in Salinas Valley
The partnership between The Reservoir and Naturipe Berry Growers aims to accelerate agricultural innovation in Salinas Valley by combining deep berry-growing expertise with cutting-edge research and technology.

The Reservoir, a California nonprofit focused on agricultural innovation, has partnered with Naturipe Berry Growers, Inc., a leading strawberry grower, to advance farming innovation at Reservoir Farms in Salinas Valley. This collaboration marks a significant step towards integrating real-world farming systems with technological advancements, aiming to improve the quality and sustainability of specialty crops.
Located in one of the world's most productive specialty crop regions, Reservoir Farms offers startups direct access to farmland and infrastructure, facilitating essential in-field testing for new technologies. Naturipe will manage five acres of strawberries, contributing operational support and expertise, while working alongside startups to explore sustainable farming innovations.
Danny Bernstein, founder and CEO of The Reservoir, highlighted the partnership's potential to bring together growers and innovators for scalable agricultural solutions. The collaboration, valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars annually, positions Naturipe as a Premier Sponsor of Reservoir Farms, playing a key role in strategic programming.
Hank Guerrero of Naturipe Berry Growers emphasized the initiative's alignment with their values towards a sustainable future for agriculture. Reservoir Farms, set to launch multiple locations across California, aims to bridge the gap between Silicon Valley innovation and farmland, supporting startups in robotics, automation, and digital solutions.
The initiative is expected to empower farmers, accelerate startups, boost the local economy, and drive sustainability, reinforcing Salinas Valley's leadership in agricultural innovation. The official groundbreaking for Reservoir Farms is anticipated in late summer 2025.
