Ucore Secures Greenland Rare Earth Supply to Challenge Chinese Dominance

Ucore Rare Metals Inc. has signed a letter of intent with Critical Metals Corp. to secure up to 10,000 metric tons annually of heavy rare earth concentrate beginning in 2027. This arrangement will provide reliable feedstock for Ucore's Department of Defense-backed Strategic Metals Complex in Louisiana, representing a significant step toward reducing American dependence on Chinese rare earth supplies.

The agreement leverages Greenland's Tanbreez Project, recognized as one of the world's largest undeveloped rare earth resources. This partnership aims to establish a fully integrated North American rare earth supply chain for technologies powering the future while strengthening national security. The strategic importance lies in securing materials like dysprosium and terbium, which are vital components for electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense technologies.

Ucore's proprietary RapidSX(TM) separation technology will process the concentrate, positioning the company to disrupt China's control over the North American rare earth element supply chain. As global demand for rare earths continues to surge, this agreement provides a foundation for establishing independent North American production capabilities. The timing coincides with increasing geopolitical tensions and supply chain vulnerabilities that have highlighted the strategic importance of securing domestic and allied sources for critical minerals.

The arrangement supports Ucore's broader vision of becoming a leading advanced technology company providing metal separation products and services to the mining industry. The company maintains additional development plans including strategic metals complexes in Canada and Alaska, along with the longer-term development of its Bokan-Dotson Ridge Rare Heavy REE Project in Southeast Alaska. This development comes as governments and industries worldwide recognize the strategic vulnerability of relying on single-source suppliers for materials essential to clean energy transitions and national security. The ability to process heavy rare earth concentrates from non-Chinese sources represents a critical milestone in building resilient supply chains for the technologies that will define the coming decades of industrial and technological development.
