UGI Natural Gas Rates to Remain Stable in June, Modest Increase Expected in December
UGI Utilities will maintain current natural gas rates in June, with a projected minor rate increase of 1.1-1.5% for residential, commercial, and industrial customers in December, pending Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approval.

UGI Utilities, Inc. announced its natural gas purchased cost rates will remain unchanged on June 1, 2025, with a modest rate increase projected for December 1, 2025. The potential rate adjustment, subject to Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) approval, represents a minimal impact on customer bills.
The proposed December rate adjustment would marginally increase monthly bills for different customer segments. Residential heating customers using 73.7 hundred cubic feet (ccf) of natural gas could see their monthly bill rise from $112.23 to $113.45, a 1.1% increase. Commercial customers might experience a 1.4% increase, while industrial customers could see a 1.5% rise in their monthly bills.
As a regulated utility, UGI is required to file gas cost rates annually with the PUC and can adjust rates quarterly to reflect wholesale natural gas price changes. Importantly, utilities like UGI are legally prohibited from profiting on the natural gas commodity portion of customer bills, ensuring that any price adjustments directly reflect wholesale market conditions.
The minimal rate fluctuation reflects the utility's commitment to maintaining stable energy costs for its nearly 760,000 natural gas and electric customers across 45 Pennsylvania counties. For consumers, this means predictable and transparent pricing with only slight potential adjustments in winter energy expenses.
