UGI Utilities Announces Major Gas System Upgrades in Carlisle

UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin significant system upgrades in Carlisle on Monday, November 10th, marking the start of a comprehensive gas main replacement project that will extend into spring 2026. The initiative represents UGI's ongoing commitment to providing safe and reliable natural gas service while creating opportunities for additional customers to convert to natural gas along the project route.

The construction will impact multiple roads throughout Carlisle, including C Street between Cherry Street and North College Street, Franklin Street between H Street and C Street, and D Street between Redwood Drive and Oak Street. Additional affected areas include E Street between Franklin Street and North College Street, F Street between Redwood Drive and Ash Avenue, and G Street between Franklin Street and Ash Avenue. Work will proceed in sections with construction scheduled Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM.

Residents and business owners should anticipate lane and parking restrictions during construction hours, along with temporary interruptions to natural gas service. These service interruptions will require UGI technicians to access properties for equipment inspection and relighting procedures. The project will pause during the weeks of December 22nd and 29th, resuming on January 5th, 2026.

The timing and completion of the upgrades remain subject to weather conditions and working circumstances. Following the underground work completion, final paving and restoration activities will occur at a later date. This infrastructure improvement project holds significance for the Carlisle community as it enhances the safety and reliability of natural gas distribution while potentially expanding access to natural gas service for properties along the construction route. The upgrades represent a substantial investment in local energy infrastructure that will benefit both current customers and potential new users of natural gas services in the area.
