Utah Healthcare Innovation Network Launches First Startup Accelerator Cohort in Health Tech

The Utah Healthcare Innovation Network (UHIN) has selected seven promising healthcare startups for its first accelerator cohort, signaling a significant investment in medical technology development and entrepreneurship in Utah. The diverse group of startups represents innovative solutions across cardiac screening, surgical technologies, diagnostic tools, and medical device development.

The selected companies will participate in an intensive 10-week program designed to accelerate their growth through structured mentorship, fundraising education, and entrepreneurial skill development. This initiative reflects UHIN's mission to improve healthcare affordability, accessibility, and provider experiences while positioning Utah as a national healthcare innovation hub.

The cohort includes companies addressing critical healthcare challenges. Bloom Surgical is developing a revolutionary laparoscopic surgical lens cleaning technology, while Diagnostic Ventures focuses on rapid diagnostic technologies. DigiBeat aims to transform cardiac screening through its Cartometric Cardiography system, and Micromist Rx is creating a prescription-controlled inhaler to improve drug delivery and reduce potential abuse.

Other notable startups include FrostByte, which is developing temperature-monitoring glove liners to prevent frostbite, NeuroRobotic Technologies with its Electronic Grip Gauge for rehabilitation, and RefloDx, which is innovating laryngopharyngeal reflux diagnosis.

By providing targeted support and resources, UHIN's accelerator program represents a strategic approach to nurturing healthcare innovation. The initiative brings together key stakeholders including Park City Angels, BioUtah, BioHive, and the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity to create a collaborative ecosystem for emerging medical technologies.
