Verizon Commits $5 Billion to Boost American Small Business Ecosystem
Verizon's new Small Business Supplier Accelerator program aims to strengthen US small businesses by providing financial investment, digital training, and strategic support to help entrepreneurs thrive in the digital economy.

Telecommunications giant Verizon announced a substantial $5 billion commitment to support American small businesses over the next five years through its innovative Small Business Supplier Accelerator program. The initiative seeks to create a robust pipeline for small businesses, with a particular focus on veteran-owned enterprises, to engage with Verizon and other large corporations.
The program goes beyond traditional financial support by offering targeted training, flexible payment terms, and modified contractual requirements. These strategies are designed to lower barriers to entry for small businesses seeking to become suppliers in large corporate networks. Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg emphasized the critical role of small businesses as the foundation of the American economic landscape.
Complementing the supplier program, Verizon's Small Business Digital Ready initiative provides free online resources, including over 50 expert-curated courses, one-on-one coaching, and networking opportunities. The company has already supported nearly 500,000 small businesses since 2021 and aims to equip one million businesses with digital skills by 2030.
In collaboration with LISC, Verizon is also offering $10,000 grants to eligible small businesses who complete specific digital readiness resources. This grant program, running until June 30, 2025, represents Verizon's continued commitment to empowering entrepreneurs with both financial and technological resources.
The comprehensive approach signals a strategic investment in economic resilience, recognizing small businesses as crucial drivers of innovation, job creation, and community development. By providing integrated support across financial, technological, and educational domains, Verizon is positioning itself as a key enabler of small business growth in the digital era.
