Viemed Healthcare's Revenue Mix Shift Drives Strong Cash Flow Growth, Stonegate Says

Viemed Healthcare, Inc. (NASDAQ: VMD) reported first-quarter 2026 results that demonstrate improving growth quality beyond just scale, according to an analyst update from Stonegate Capital Partners. The company is reducing its reliance on legacy ventilation services as sleep, resupply, and maternal health become larger contributors, driving stronger free cash flow conversion.
Key metrics from the quarter show a significant improvement in cash flow from operations, which rose to $8.1 million from $2.9 million in the same period last year. Trailing twelve-month free cash flow increased to $36.3 million from $23.3 million at year-end 2025. Stonegate attributes this to the shifting revenue mix, as ventilator rentals declined to 46.9% of revenue from 54.4%, while commercial payors increased to 23% from 17%.
Sleep and resupply remain the clearest growth drivers. Positive airway pressure (PAP) patients increased 57% year-over-year to 35,938, new patient starts grew 42%, and resupply patients increased 47% year-over-year. The company is also seeing progress in ventilation, which appears to be moving through the transition related to the National Coverage Determination (NCD), with better new-start activity and improving compliance, though turnover continues to pressure census.
Stonegate notes that the broader mix is driving stronger free cash flow conversion as sleep, resupply, and maternal health scale.
