Visory Health Reports $790 Million in Savings on Cardiovascular Medications for 1.5 Million Patients

Visory Health's health technology platform has generated nearly $790 million in savings on cardiovascular medications for over 1.5 million unique patients nationwide since its launch in March 2022. This financial relief directly addresses cost barriers that often prevent individuals from obtaining life-saving prescriptions for conditions like high cholesterol, which plays a critical role in preventing heart attacks and strokes.

Recent research published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine underscores the public health importance of improving access to cholesterol-lowering therapy. The simulation study projected that providing guideline-directed treatment to all eligible U.S. adults could annually prevent more than 39,000 deaths from heart attacks, nearly 100,000 non-fatal heart attacks, and up to 65,000 strokes. Beyond saving lives, resolving the widespread underuse of these medications could reduce annual healthcare expenditures by an estimated $25.3 billion.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, making solutions that address medication affordability particularly crucial. Visory Health Chief Pharmacy Officer Rebecca Irvin emphasized the importance of breaking down financial barriers to medication access, stating the company's dedication to ensuring financial considerations don't prevent Americans from accessing necessary treatments.

The platform consistently provides savings on commonly prescribed statins, including atorvastatin (generic for Lipitor), rosuvastatin (generic for Crestor), and simvastatin (generic for Zocor). Patients can compare medication costs at over 37,000 pharmacies nationwide, including major chains like Kroger, Stop & Shop, Publix, and Walgreens, through Visory Health's free prescription discount card available at https://www.visoryhealth.com.

Patients can access up to 80% savings on medication costs by downloading the Visory Health app through the App Store or Google Play Store and adding the digital prescription card to their mobile wallet. For those without digital wallet access, the card remains available for download on the Rx Savings Card page of the company's website at https://www.visoryhealth.com.

Alexandra Robertson, Senior Vice President of Growth at Visory Health, highlighted the broader implications for health equity, noting that achieving true equity requires both technological innovation and systematic improvements to healthcare access systems. The company's network of over 37,000 pharmacy partners nationwide ensures patients can access affordable prescription prices regardless of their insurance status or financial situation.
