Walmart and Sam's Club Campaign Raises $378,000 for Atlanta Food Bank Addressing Growing Hunger Crisis
Walmart and Sam's Club's annual Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign raised $378,000 for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, providing over 1.1 million meals to address the critical food insecurity affecting 1 in 8 people in metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

The north Georgia community helped raise more than $378,000 for local families in need through the 12th annual Walmart and Sam's Club Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign, addressing the critical food insecurity affecting an estimated 1 in 8 people in metro Atlanta and north Georgia. Supported by local shoppers, associates, and dedicated partnerships with food and beverage brands, the campaign provided important donations to The Atlanta Community Food Bank during a period of increasing need.
Kyle Waide, President and CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, emphasized the growing crisis, stating that more households and neighbors are facing food insecurity, with the Food Bank distributing 112 million meals during their most recent fiscal year to children, families, and seniors struggling to make ends meet. The $378,000 raised will enable the Food Bank to provide over 1,134,000 meals for neighbors in need, distributed through a network of more than 700 community-based, nonprofit partners across 29 counties.
To date, the campaign has helped secure more than 2.3 billion meals for Feeding America food banks throughout the country, with this year's effort continuing 20 years of partnership between Walmart, Sam's Club and Feeding America. The collaboration has generated approximately $281 million in donations, including more than $177 million from the company and the Walmart Foundation and nearly $105 million from customers and members, plus more than 9 billion pounds of food donated from Walmart stores and Sam's Clubs since 2006.
Kayla Burton, senior manager of Cause Marketing and Customer Engagement at Walmart, highlighted that helping neighbors put food on the table is at the heart of their community efforts, expressing gratitude for associates, customers, members, and suppliers who joined forces to support local Feeding America food banks. The annual donation campaign ran from March 1-31, with 24 participating suppliers for Walmart and six for Sam's Club, including major brands like The Coca-Cola Company, General Mills, Kraft Heinz, and Unilever, demonstrating broad corporate commitment to addressing hunger.
