Wellington Green Mall Launches Veterans Initiatives with Honor Wall and Tree of Joy
The Mall at Wellington Green partners with Stand Down nonprofit to honor local veterans through community events that address veteran homelessness and support military families during the holiday season.

The Mall at Wellington Green has launched two community initiatives in partnership with Stand Down, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting Palm Beach County veterans and their families in the fight against homelessness. The programs, running through November and December, aim to honor military service members while addressing practical needs within the veteran community.
From November 1 through November 8, the shopping center will feature an Honor Wall in the City Furniture Court where shoppers can post American Flags to honor veterans or active military members. The visual display is designed to grow throughout the week as more community members participate. The commemoration will culminate in a Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday, November 8, at 11 a.m. featuring musical performances by The Palm Beach Lakes Community High School Ram Regiment Band, ceremonial activities including the posting of colors and Pledge of Allegiance, and remarks from a veteran guest speaker.
Concurrently, the mall and Stand Down will host the Tree of Joy initiative from November 1 through December 10 in the Grand Court. This charitable holiday tradition displays tags with information about children from veteran families across Palm Beach County, including their names, ages, sizes, and holiday wishes. Shoppers can select tags, purchase corresponding gifts, and drop off donations at Starbucks by the December 10 deadline. Each contribution helps ensure veteran families experience a brighter holiday season.
Asad Sadiq, General Manager of The Mall at Wellington Green, emphasized the importance of these partnerships in creating meaningful community experiences. The initiatives represent a coordinated effort to address veteran homelessness while celebrating military service through public participation. The programs highlight the ongoing challenges faced by veteran families in Palm Beach County, particularly around housing stability and holiday support. By combining ceremonial recognition with practical assistance, the initiatives aim to foster community engagement while supporting those who have served the country. The partnership between the commercial center and veteran service organization demonstrates how public spaces can facilitate support for military families beyond traditional Veterans Day observances.
