Wild Fox Ridge Wins 2025 International Book Award, Highlighting Global Appeal of Chinese Literature

Wild Fox Ridge, the English edition of Chinese author Xuemo's acclaimed novel, has been awarded the 2025 International Book Award in the Historical Fiction category, marking a significant milestone for Chinese literature on the global stage. Translated by Howard Goldblatt and Sylvia Li-chun Lin, the novel has previously won the 2025 International Impact Book Award and achieved bestseller status on Amazon, showcasing its wide appeal.

The novel represents a departure from Xuemo's earlier realist works, blending historical narrative with mystical elements to recount the mysterious disappearance of two camel caravans a century ago through 28 ghostly monologues. This unique storytelling approach has been praised as a reconstruction of the Western mythos, earning critical acclaim and now, international recognition.

Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of the Book Festival, highlighted the rigorous selection process for the awards, which received thousands of submissions worldwide. The accolade not only celebrates Xuemo's literary achievement but also signifies the increasing global interest in Chinese literature, fostering cultural exchange between East and West.

With a promotional campaign set to launch, Wild Fox Ridge is poised to reach an even broader audience, further cementing its status as a pivotal work in contemporary literature. The novel is available for purchase on Amazon.
