Windsor Run Addresses Senior Housing Demand with New Custom Home Designs

Windsor Run, an Erickson Senior Living community in Matthews, N.C., has introduced ten new two-bedroom, two-bath floor plans created by combining two existing units into spacious designs ranging from 1,380 to 2,048 square feet. These custom homes feature open living areas, large primary suites, and additional storage space in the Park View residence building.

Sales Director Ryan Barkley stated that the construction directly responds to Priority List demand, noting that even with the completion of the final two residence buildings, there remains an extended wait for popular two-bedroom homes. The new combination residences provide immediate opportunities for spacious living without prolonged waiting periods.

Brenda and Rick West, Priority List members who secured one of the new homes, cited the community's worry-free lifestyle as a major factor in their decision. The couple participated in Windsor Run's Live the Life program, which allowed them to experience the community through activities like chair volleyball and campus exploration while connecting with current residents.

The Wests' combination home will feature a large living room, two bedrooms on opposite ends, a den for their jigsaw puzzle hobby, and a screened porch. They are working with Planning and Moving Consultant Andrea Fitzgibbons and preferred vendors through their Priority List membership benefits, receiving assistance with furniture measurement and move planning.

With only a limited number of combination residences available, the community encourages interested seniors to act quickly. The initiative demonstrates how senior living communities are adapting to market demands by creatively reconfiguring existing spaces to meet the needs of older adults seeking maintenance-free lifestyles and immediate housing solutions.
