XOXO Reece Foundation's 4th Annual Birthday Bash Aims to Support Local Youth Athletes
The XOXO Reece Foundation is hosting its 4th Annual Birthday Bash to raise funds for scholarships aiding young athletes in gymnastics and other sports, continuing the legacy of Reece Shepard.

The XOXO Reece Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth athletes through scholarships, is set to host its 4th Annual Birthday Bash on August 31, 2025. The event, which commemorates what would have been the 18th birthday of Reece Shepard, aims to raise funds for scholarships that will cover competition-related expenses for 10 gymnasts. Reece, a competitive gymnast and honor roll student, passed away at the age of 14 due to a brain hemorrhage, leaving behind a legacy of passion for youth sports and community support.
Held at Firehouse Gastro Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, the Birthday Bash is free to the public and features food, drinks, live music, and pop-up shops. A highlight of the event includes a virtual silent auction, with proceeds directly benefiting the foundation's scholarship fund. This year, the foundation has partnered with Backpack Dreams, a fair-trade fundraising initiative, to further its impact. Purchases made through this collaboration support women artisans globally and contribute to the XOXO Reece Foundation's mission.
Since its inception in 2021, the foundation has awarded scholarships to over 55 young athletes across various sports, including gymnastics, wrestling, rodeo, and volleyball. These scholarships have enabled recipients to pursue their athletic dreams despite financial hardships. Rachel Hoar, a scholarship recipient, shared how the support allowed her to continue in gymnastics, a sport Reece loved deeply.
For those interested in contributing, donations can be made through the foundation's website at XOXOReece.com. Additionally, youth athletes seeking scholarship opportunities can apply via the foundation's scholarships page. The XOXO Reece Foundation remains committed to honoring Reece's memory by fostering the next generation of athletes and embodying her values of kindness, community, and perseverance.
