Chemify Unveils World's First Chemputation Facility in Glasgow, Revolutionizing Molecular Design

Chemify has introduced the world's first Chemputation facility, known as Chemifarm, in Glasgow, setting a new standard in molecular design and manufacture. This 21,500-ft² facility combines AI-driven molecular-design with industrial-scale robotic synthesis, significantly reducing the time from concept to compound. The innovation is poised to transform drug discovery and the development of next-generation materials, addressing some of society's most pressing challenges.

The Chemifarm is powered by the Chemputation platform, which includes a bespoke programming language, extensible robotics, and the largest library of validated reactions. This enables the on-demand design and optimization of molecules previously considered unreachable. Lee Cronin, CEO and Founder of Chemify, highlighted the facility's potential to accelerate breakthroughs across various scientific fields.

Supported by a £12 million investment from the Glasgow City Region Innovation Accelerator Programme and a £1.1M grant from Scottish Enterprise, the Chemifarm is expected to create 60 new jobs and secure over 50 existing positions in Glasgow. The facility underscores the UK's leadership in advanced chemical and pharmaceutical industries, according to Dean Cook of Innovate UK.

Adrian Gillespie, Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise, emphasized the facility's role in positioning Scotland at the forefront of the global healthtech market. Councillor Susan Aitken of Glasgow City Council praised Chemify as a beacon of innovation, contributing to the city's reputation as a hub of scientific excellence and economic growth.
