KC Lewis' 'Recurve' Blends Sci-Fi, Survival Horror, and Existential Questions in New Novel

Franklin Publishers has announced the release of Recurve by KC Lewis, a science fiction thriller that combines military survival, psychological suspense, and cosmic mystery. The novel, set in a quarantined Houston devastated by a catastrophic First Contact event, follows an amnesiac survivor who awakens alone in an abandoned hospital with no memory of his past. As he joins a group of soldiers and survivors fighting to contain a growing threat, he discovers a connection to a classified experiment known as the Reclamation Project—and a force that may be altering the boundaries between life, death, and reality.

The protagonist, known only as Teller, Subject Four, or the Fortune Teller, possesses a terrifying ability: death is not the end. Each time he falls, he returns with fragments of knowledge from alternate outcomes, forcing him to relive impossible tragedies while searching for a future in which humanity survives. The story begins as a desperate fight against monstrous Ferronines and a mysterious silver substance known as Argentum, gradually unfolding into a larger narrative about memory, transformation, grief, faith, sacrifice, and the search for meaning.

Lewis, a Houston-based writer and consultant, developed the novel over more than five years, inspired by a concept originating from a recurring nightmare. In his preface, he describes the story as born from grief, perseverance, imagination, and the belief that stories can remind readers they are not alone. Recurve is the opening chapter of the larger Argentum universe and asks a profound question: 'If you were given endless chances to save the people you love, how many times would you be willing to suffer to get it right?'

The novel blends the intensity of military science fiction with the emotional depth of character-driven speculative fiction. It explores what remains of a person when every certainty has been stripped away. The book is available in ebook, paperback, and hardcover formats.

Franklin Publishers, which supports authors through publishing, branding, promotion, and global distribution, is releasing the title. More information can be found at Franklin Publishers. The release of Recurve marks a significant addition to the science fiction genre, offering readers a thought-provoking exploration of identity and resilience in the face of existential threats.
