Opawica Exploration Identifies Potential Multi-Million Ounce Gold System at Bazooka Property
Opawica Exploration's drilling results and geological analysis suggest the Bazooka Property could host a large, connected gold system along the prolific Cadillac-Larder Lake Fault, with significant implications for regional gold discovery potential.

Opawica Explorations Inc. has provided an update on its Bazooka Property, revealing substantial gold mineralization potential along the Cadillac-Larder Lake Fault system. The 100-percent-owned project covers 1,371 hectares and includes seven kilometers of the fault zone, which controls numerous gold deposits in the southern Abitibi greenstone belt.
Recent drilling focused on the eastern portion of the property has identified 19 gold mineralized zones, with 15 zones carrying grades above 0.55 g/t up to 6.12 g/t Au. Sixteen zones show core lengths greater than 10 meters, reaching up to 67.9 meters, with four larger intercepts exceeding 0.84 g/t Au. The western section, located four to six kilometers from recent drilling, contains historical gold mineralization that suggests a potentially large, connected gold system.
CEO Blake Morgan stated that the property demonstrates "huge potential," combining high-grade zones in the east with bulk tonnage results in the same area. The company plans to systematically test and drill westward from the high-grade zone, aiming to connect multiple mineralized zones and discover new high-grade areas. This strategy is based on geological data from multiple deposits in the region, where connecting zones along the fault has created multi-million-ounce deposits.
The Bazooka Property is strategically positioned adjacent to significant mining assets, including the Wassamac property acquired by Agnico Eagle in a multi-billion-dollar deal in 2023 and a nearby deposit sold for $25,000,000 in December 2024 by Yorbeau Resources.
