Webinar to Address Innovative Approaches in Preventing Violence Against Women

The upcoming webinar by Footage Foundation and El-Agartuu, titled 'Using Innovative Methods in the Prevention of Violence Against Women,' aims to shed light on the critical findings from their recent needs assessment research. Conducted between December 2024 and January 2025, the research engaged 108 participants, including survivors of violence, NGO staff, and government employees, uncovering significant gaps in support systems and the urgent need for comprehensive interventions.

Key findings from the assessment reveal that 73% of violence victims suffer from poor mental health, underscoring the necessity for enhanced counseling services, training for government staff, and better collaboration among NGOs. The webinar will explore how storytelling and participatory methods can foster trust, shift harmful norms, and strengthen support networks, offering actionable solutions to these challenges.

Dr. Kristen Ali Eglinton of Footage Foundation emphasized the importance of investing in awareness and professional capacity to combat violence against women. Similarly, Nurzhan Tulegabylova from El-Agartuu highlighted the broader implications of these findings, noting their relevance across Central Asia and beyond. This event marks a pivotal step towards mobilizing collective action and fostering a safer environment for women worldwide.
